Contest - on hiaitus

We are sorry to announce that Novel Slices is going on hiatus and so we have suspended the Spring 2024 Novel Excerpt contest. We are particularly sorry because our judge, Aaron Hamburger (author of Hotel Cuba), is such an amazing supporter of novel writers! However, we hope to be able to cooperate again in the future and recommend checking out his incredible new novel!

We were unable to cancel some of our publicity in time, but please do know that what you are reading is the latest and most current situation.

Wishing everyone amazing writing in 2024 and beyond,
The Novel Slices team

Why enter this contest?

Unlike contests focused on short stories, we do not expect you to carve your novel excerpt into a 'self-contained' piece. Furthermore, our publication is marketed directly to literary agents as well as both small and large publishers, in order to give winning entries the greatest possible exposure, and we ask our judges to write a few lines about the five excerpts accepted for publication which we then send directly to agents/publishers after the writer has approved a draft of the letter.
